This book, in three volumes, presents a detailed revision of the systematics and taxonomy of the platyhelminth class Trematoda, subclasses Aspidogastrea and Digenea, with keys for the identification of these parasites at the superfamily, family, subfamily and generic levels.The trematodes are parasitic worms infecting all vertebrate groups and include families of significance to human and animal health, with considerable economic impact. Volume 1 covers the subclass Aspidogastrea and order Strigeida, while the second and third volumes will cover the orders Echinostomida and Plagiorchiida.

This is the second of three volumes of Keys to the Trematoda, a series on the systematics and identification of the Class Trematoda. The book presents the taxa in the Order Echinostomida and some of those in the Order Plagiorchiida, with keys for their identification at the superfamily, family, subfamily and generic levels. The keys are based on critical examination of specimens by subject experts, and generic diagnoses are accompanied by illustrations of important morphological characters. This volume includes seven echinostomidan superfamilies (the echinostomatoids, haploporoids, haplosplanchnoids, heronimoids, microscaphidioids, paramphistomatoids and pronocephaloids) and two plagiorchiidan superfamilies (the allocreadioids and lepocreadioids).The first volume covered the Subclass Aspidogastrea and Order Strigeida, while the third volume, due to be published in early 2006, will cover the remaining members of the Plagiorchiida.

This research studies the norms and transgressions that occurred in family life, especially women ́s, in Cartagena de Indias and Havana, the main port cities of the Caribbean alongside Veracruz and Portobelo, between 1759 and 1808. The authors consulted a wide range of sources, among other institutions, in the General Archive of the Indies in Spain, the General Archive of the Nation in Colombia and the National Archive of Cuba, and they applied the historical criticism method. This made possible to demonstrate that the legislation and speeches produced by Enlightened Despotism in order to control family life reinforced patriarchal regulations, aimed at consolidating female subordination in front of the authority of men. This generated multiple conflictive and transgressive situations, in which women assumed a leading role as a valid alternative for the defense of their rights.

October 2018The influence of socialist ideas in the Revolution of the half century in Colombia (1849-1854)

This research studies the influence of socialist ideas on the revolution of 1850s, issues not addressed in the writings of history. For that, we analysed the liberal reforms, the organization of the craftsmen in the Democratic Societies and the organization of the political parties. We also reviewed the division of liberalism into Golgotha and democraticegalitarian and assessed the dissemination and appropriation of socialist ideas of the Golgotha liberals, the democratic-egalitarian liberals and the craftsmen of the period addressed. We consulted with a wide range of sources and used the historical logical method in the field of the history of ideas. Which made it possible to demonstrate that the influence of socialist ideas in the revolution of 1850s was manifested differently in the liberal Golgothas and in the democratic-egalitarian liberals and craftsmen. Thus, the results of this research proved that some of the socialist postulates were in line with the reforms that the Golgotha liberals considered to be carried out in the country, while for the democratic-egalitarian liberals and craftsmen the influence of these ideals was manifested in a thought and a political practice in favour of democracy and social equality.
