This series contains about 1,800 modern prints collected by Lu Xun at that time, which authored by nearly 200 domestic printmakers and currently in the Lu Xun Memorial Hall in Shanghai and the Lu Xun Museum in Beijing. It is showcasing the glorious history of modern Chinese woodcut art: In the 1920s and 1930s, in order to guide the artistic direction of Chinese literary youth, smashed the KMT’s counter-revolutionary cultural " encirclement and suppression", Mr. Lu Xun held a "woodcut workshop" in Shanghai, and cultivated a group of emerging woodcut backbone. These backbones led young artists in various regions of the country to create a large number of realistic works reflecting the suffering and tragic fate of the people at the bottom of the society at that time. They cruelly lashed the dark reality of society and called for national salvation and survival. These young woodcutters sent their woodcut works to Lu Xun, who not only guided their creation personally, but also spared no effort to collect, publicize and promote them to the public. With the active advocacy and support of Mr. Lu Xun, the emerging woodcut movement in China has developed vigorously, driving the modernization of Chinese art and leaving an indelible glorious footprint in the history of Chinese modern culture and art. This complete collection is a companion to the The Complete Collection of Foreign Prints by Lu Xun published in 2014.

Neoliberal precarity, generational dispossession and call centre labour in Portugal

Since the mid-2000s, the harsh reality of call centre employment for a generation of young workers in Portugal has been impossible to ignore. With its endless rows of small cubicles, where human agents endure repetitive telephone conversations with abusive clients under invasive modes of technological surveillance, discipline and control, call centre work remains a striking symbol of labour precarity, a condition particularly associated with the neoliberal generational disenchantment that 'each generation does better than its predecessor'. This book describes the emergence of a regime of disciplined agency in the Portuguese call centre sector. Examining the ascendancy of call centres as icons of precarity in contemporary Portugal, this book argues that call centre labour constitutes a new form of commodification of the labouring subject. De Matos argues that call centres represent an advanced system of non-manual labour power exploitation, due to the underestimation of human creativity that lies at the centre of the regimented structures of call centre labour. Call centres can only guarantee profit maintenance, de Matos argues, through the commodification of the human agency arising from the operators' moral, relational and social embedded agentive linguistic interventions of creative improvisation, decision-making, problem-solving and ethical evaluation.

Este número contiene 240 páginas, algunas con textos en inglés y el resto con traducciones. Esta publicación se distribuye a abonados en Israel y en el extranjero, a bibliotecas de judaica de todo el mundo y a revistas literarias y escritores judíos y no judíos de destaque. El comité de redacción del número 7 de «The Jerusalem Review» incluye algunos de los mejores escritores y miembros del mundo académico en Israel y en el extranjero. En concordancia con el marco ideológico básico de la revista, publicamos en ella traducciones al inglés de textos en hebreo postbíblico de todas las épocas. Así, se puede encontrar en ella poemas de poetas israelíes modernos, junto con Abraham Ibn Ezra y Berl Pomerantz (un poeta judío de la época anterior al Holocausto). La sección de ensayos incluye un ensayo en gran escala de Amos Funkenstein sobre La teología frente al Holocausto, así como ensayos de A. B. Yehoshua y Gabriel Moked sobre la identidad judía e israelí.
