        The Cambridge story began in 1534 when Henry VIII granted us letters patent, allowing the Press to print 'all manner of books'. Cambridge published its first book in 1584 making it the oldest publishing house in the world. Special reference is accorded to the difference that lies at the core of these ever-changing communities. It then provides an analysis of an 'on the ground project' in University community engagement, before suggesting signposts for further action at the level of policy and provision.
