        Good Morning!

        by Olha Kupriyan

Not far from the Zdvizh River lives the family of Beavers, which consists of dad, mom and Martusia. One morning, the wonderful news that the family is about to grow, prompts them to think about finding a new home. The Beavers now need to find a bigger home. Martusia’s life will not be the same as before: she is already an adult, so she must learn to cope with her feelings, find a common language with new friends and get used to the rules of the new school where she is going. Pelageya the turtle, Aunt Owl, the Dnieper barbel, Herakli the crab, Irynka and Darinka the fish and all the others will help her in this. Olga Kupriyan’s "Morning, beavers!" is a novella that tells about everyday life, family traditions and adventures of beavers and their neighbors, unobtrusively enriching the reader with important knowledge about both rare and widespread inhabitants of the Zdvizhka Valley and reminding about the importance of taking care of your home.

        Silent Striker

        by Pete Kalu

A novel about friendship and family, The Silent Striker explores the issue of disability, and deafness, and the different ways in which we can choose to handle it. Marcus is a footballing genius who keeps getting into deep trouble at his school. He is the best player by far at Ducie High, in a tough, ethnically diverse, inner-city area. He's actually so good that there's a very real chance he'll be signed by Manchester United.  But when he discovers he may be losing his hearing, his whole world falls to pieces and he finds himself having to put them back together on his own. But is this feeling of isolation real or just a consequence of his own behaviour? Dealing with deafness, shifting friends, crazy parents and a ‘special measures’ school, he will have to gather all the strength he can find – in others as well as within himself. Marcus gradually understands that accepting the help of others is ultimately an acceptance of self.

The two suddenly reappeared in Berlin after having shunned Eva and Matea for ten years, because they had separated the baby witches. The grannies claim they want to help Elli and Idi become real witches, but all they really do is selfish hocus pocus: At Idi’s swimming contest in Hamburg they make her swim way too fast and Idi thinks Elli used her magical powers. She is furious and tells Elli to leave her alone. Thomas too is very angry and says that he will have to rethink moving to Berlin, if the grannies continue to interfere with their lives. Elli is devastated. If that is how the ghastly grannies are going to behave, she will have to get rid of them. Her best friend Philip is there to help her with the new operation. They trick Matilda and Esther into acting against the code of honour of witches, which leads to them losing their magical powers and Idi can safely move to Berlin.

Four Seasons of Love is an inward journey that goes beyond the very limits we set ourselves. It is about getting to know your true self again, and be able to find the ability to love your scars. Christopher is a singer and a young music composer who is about to release an album with his band. His life revolved around parties, alcohol and luxuries after the death of his twin brother. He writes his feelings in a diary as a way to exorcise his pain. It is a realistic novel that has captured the attention of thousands of people, as many could relate to the characters and the love story between Christopher and Charlotte. As he, who wasn't used to the feeling of romantic love, and whose life's motto was"Love me today, cuz III leave you tomorrow," fell in love with someone who was  involved with someone, and whose interest in him was rather for economic and emotional stability than true love.

You Can Count on Your Heart

        by Andrea Maggi

In a small high school in Italy, professor Elpidi’s class mostly includes self-important and disillusioned students, such as Valentina, who is eager to become a famous beauty vlogger; Renzo, a street dancer; Paola, who feels trapped in a life programmed by her parents. All these teenagers have one thing in common: they don't know who they are, so they don't have the slightest idea about what to do in the future. Professor Elpidi tries to explain Socrates’ saying: “Know thyself”, in a completely original way: he organizes a retreat in a remote mountain hut, where they will all live together for a month in close contact with nature. They will have to learn to settle their differences and live in a community without wi-fi, cell phones or any other modern convenience. A book that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, and speaks to young people in their language about their fragility.
