        Framing cosmologies

        The anthropology of worlds

        by Allen Abramson, Martin Holbraad

How might the anthropological study of cosmologies - the ways in which the horizons of human worlds are imagined and engaged - illuminate understandings of the contemporary world? This book addresses this question by bringing together anthropologists whose research is informed by a concern with cosmological dimensions of social life in different ethnographic settings. Its overall aim is to reaffirm the value of the cosmological frame as a continuing source of analytical insight. Attending to the novel cosmological formations that emerge in such fields as modern markets, political landscapes, digital media and popular cinema, the book's key task is to explore how modern circumstances are constituted within the variable imagination of worlds and their horizons. It will be of interest to all students and researchers in anthropology, as well as scholars in fields as diverse as film studies, cultural studies, comparative religion, science and technology studies, and broader social theory.

Die Formeln des Universums als Lösung für Freiheit und Frieden

        by Helmut Rasch (Albert Bright)

World-wide-wealth and sustainability via astronomy laws for economic, sociological, ecological and sustainability solutions. We use astronomy rules to optimize (world) economic cycles (as counterpart to the first "physiocrat" and "cycle"-economist ever: Francois Quesnay (doctor), who used blood cycles to explain economic-cycles). My invention of the time formula was the breakthrough to a new "world" - also in the universe; my space formula invention based on it, led to the verification of the time and space formula itself. This was the final breakthrough against the established status quo regarding the - from now on - "obsolete" formula-fix-multipliers; the correlation of space and time (similar to Isaac Newton's correlation between gravity and centrifugal force) led to new "dimensional thinking"; the invention and relativization of "dark matter"(-formula) and "dark energy"(-formula) clarified the "remaining" 95% of the secrets of the universe (Einstein's focus on matter and its "environment" (energy, gravity, . ...) explain only 5% of the universe); Also my invention of a new formula for the universe, the "Dynamic Relativity", relativizes the previously valid formulas of Albert Einstein. The application of the laws of astronomy to economics, sociology, ecology and sustainability relativizes the current approaches in these areas (optimizations are, among others, the approaches of Maslow's pyramid of needs - and up to the approaches of the 17 SDG's "Sustainable Development Goals" of the UN "United Nations" - the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations). All formulas and models have been classified and deposited for use as "scientific reference books" with the British Library and VG-WORT (Patent Office sub-organisation) - as well as submitted to the Nobel Prize Committees. All the theories are well suited to solving the most acute challenges regarding lack of demand; bad banks; speculative bubbles; debt bubbles; money, currency and interest rate bubbles; trade restrictions; (trade) wars; sustainability issues; Industry 4.0 - the employment problem of replacing jobs with machines; developing countries & poverty diabolical circles; and demographic change. The first German books are: (1.) AstronZeitOnomie, ISBN 978-3-7439-0186-5 with, among other things, the invented time formula, a new economic system, as well as an optimized asset/income system (LAZEB: Life-Work-TimeUnit-BONUS - based on the birth-life-energy of the stars) and a better currency system (TEMPUS - based on LAZEB); (2. ) AstronRaumOnomy, ISBN 978-3-7497-1696-8 with the invented space and "dark matter" formulas, and a better peace and liberty system; and (3.) AstronEfficiencyOnomy, ISBN 978-3-7497-9467-6 with the invented formulas of "Dynamic Relativity" and "Dark Energy", and a strong focus on efficiency aspects in astronomy and economics, which also serve peace and sustainability. Asteroids

How Love, Fear, and Greed Will Determine Our Future in Space

        by Martin Elvis

A unique, wide-ranging examination of asteroid exploration and our future in space Human travel into space is an enormously expensive and unforgiving endeavor. So why go? In this accessible and authoritative book, astrophysicist Martin Elvis argues that the answer is the asteroid exploration, for motives of love, fear, and greed. Elvis’s personal motivation is one of scientific love—asteroid investigations may teach us about the composition of the solar system and the origins of life. A more compelling reason may be fear—of a large asteroid hitting our planet. Finally, Elvis maintains, we should consider greed: asteroids likely hold vast riches, such as large platinum deposits, and mining them could provide both a new industry and a funding source for bolder space exploration. Elvis explains how each motive can be satisfied, and how they help one another. From the origins of life, to “space billiards,” and space sports, Elvis looks at how asteroids may be used in the not-so-distant future.

        Envisioning Exoplanets

Searching For Life In the Galaxy

by Michael Carroll; foreword by Elisa Quintana

Over 4,000 exoplanets, or planets orbiting a sun other than our own, have been discovered in the universe since 1992 when the first exoplanet was confirmed. These planets have given answers and provided new questions about how the universe was formed and what sets our solar system apart.   In Envisioning Exoplanets, learn how exoplanets like 51 Pegasi b and TRAPPIST-1 h got their names and what those names mean. Discover ploonets, escaped worlds that are now orbiting stars, and Hot Jupiters, large, gaseous planets that are common in many solar systems. Examine scientifically informed depictions of exoplanets and stars millions of light years away from the Earth. And find out if any of these exoplanets are similar enough to our own to be considered Earth 2.0—a potentially habitable planet where humanity can thrive.

        Look at the stars

        by Grupo Astrófilo Lariano

        * A true guide from heaven, extending (if necessary) to the southern hemisphere, the most explored today. * Stars, nebulae, galaxies, supernovae, variable and double stars, etc. He knows the wonders of the universe not only by having read the description of it, but by having seen them with his own eyes, following the precise indications that he will find in the text and on the maps. * The origin of the constellations: the history of the most famous groups of stars * The various celestial objects: their origins and physical characteristics. * The characteristics of the sky in the different seasons of the year. * Constellations and objects visible in the spring months, summer, autumn, winter and in the southern skies. * Stellar alignments: an indispensable instrument for orient yourself in the sky. * Photos of the most spectacular celestial objects. With tables and data to recognize them. * A book that broadens your horizons from Earth to infinity, from your window to the depths of the universe. The Astrófilo Lariano Group of Como, in Italy, has been collecting for twenty-five years the observations from more than one hundred passionate astronomy partners. These experiences have led to the organization of innumerable informative meetings in schools, libraries, cultural circles and universities. In addition to publishing a newsletter, some of its partners regularly contribute to specialized magazines and newspapers. In Editorial De Vecchi he has published Practical Astronomy Course, a manual that complements what is explained in this book.

Zonnestelselmodel (Solar System Scale Model) 1:100 billion (Dutch)

The perfect tool to learn all about our Solar System

        by Rob Walrecht

This unique product is both a scale model and concise encyclopaedia of the Solar System in one! It consists of sixteen information-packed cards (10x12 cm or 4x5 inch), all pertaining to the Sun, the planets, the Moon, asteroids, comets and the new class to which Pluto now belongs, the dwarf planets. These cards are a quick way to learn all there is to know about these objects, as well as being ideal for youngsters, papers and talks! Primarily, however, it is an exquisite scale model (scale 1:100 billion) of our fascinating Solar System, presenting the best possible representation of the distances within our Solar System as well as the unimaginable emptiness of the universe. In this scale model, the Sun is the size of a marble (14 mm), Jupiter, which is at 8 m/26 ft from the Sun, as large as a plastic pin-head, the Earth (at 1.5 m/5 ft) as large a  grain of coarse sand, Mars (at 2.3 m/7.5 ft) as large a grain of fine sand and Pluto, which would now be at 47 m/155 ft from the Sun, as large as a dust particle... The scale model, when completely placed, is 64 m (210 ft) long. The closest next star is at 400 km (250 miles) from the Sun! The cards show the sizes of the Heavenly bodies at scale, as well as these sizes one hundred times ‘enlarged’, for better comparison of the members of our Solar System. Special standards to place them are included and the cards contain holes to be hung on the wall or from sticks. Available are an English version (with metric units), a US version (with inches, miles, Fahrenheit etc.) and a Dutch version.

        PLN-50 – Planisphere for 50° North latitude

The perfect way to learn how to recognise the stars and constellations, very accurate between 45° and 55° north latitude

        by Rob Walrecht

A Planisphere or ‘Star Wheel’ is the perfect way to learn how to recognise the stars and constellations. It consists of a star chart showing all stars and constellations that are visible from a certain area (latitude). However, stars rise and set and the Night Sky changes from season to season. Therefore a second disc is placed on top of the star chart, containing a ‘horizon’ that defines the visible part of the sky at any given moment, which is naturally half of the total starry sky. That moment can be set at the desired date and time. Rob Walrecht’s planisphere design is very modern and attractive. His planispheres are among the best in the world. His programme is the most extensive in the world, with English planispheres for the entire populated world, and planispheres in thirteen other languages (in 2013). The basic star chart contains some 700 stars and 300 ‘objects for binoculars’: galaxies, nebulae, open and globular clusters, double and variable stars that can be seen with the naked eye or at least with binoculars. This is an English planisphere for 60° north, perfect anywhere between 55° and 65° north. It is a round planisphere, 25 cm in diameter, with instructions and a few interesting tips on the backside. For use in for instance: North Canada, Iceland, Northern Europe and Northern Russia. Rob Walrecht Productions is specialised in customised planispheres, so you can have one for any latitude zone, in any language, in any size, shape and colours, and in any design.

Solar System Scale Model 1:100 billion (US edition)

This version is made for US customers, as the units used are inches, miles, Fahrenheit etc.
