This book is written in three parts. Part I in seven chapters introduces the basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine. This consists of the theory of yin-yang, the five elements, zangfu, channels and collaterals, qi, blood, body fluid, etiology, diagnosis, and differentiation of syndromes. To emphasize theory at the beginning of the book is to lay a sound foundation for the study of acupuncture and moxibustion-an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine-taking this theory as a guide in clinical practice. 2. Part II consists of three chapters. It gives a general sketch of the channel and points, detailing the courses of the 1 2 channels, the extra channels, the points of each channel and the extraordinary points. Part Ill deals with acupuncture and moxibustion therapy.
