Curse of the Twisted Rose
by Lee Lackey (author)
Description
As a kickboxing cop, Marlie Franklin protected the citizens of Houston, and as a young single mom, she kept her teenage son out of trouble. However, when a dying witch curses her at a bust, she begins to attract monsters wherever she goes. One disguises itself as an Internal Affairs officer and causes Marlie to lose her badge, forcing her to leave town in search of work.
Then, as the new deputy for Lockwood, Texas, Marlie discovers that mystical evil has rooted itself in the small town, with a gang of bikers casting spells to keep control. When she refuses to back down, her son could lose his life. Can Marlie learn to use the curse within her for good, to cure the corruption of Lockwood?

Author Biography
Lee Lackey has written short stories since he was an angst-filled teenager. Since then, he's grown up enough to enjoy the madness of the world, rather than railing against it. To hide from the crazy, he enjoys martial arts and swing dancing. Some say they are lovers, not fighters. He claims to be both.
Currently, Lee is an editor for AetherBound Press, as well as a frequent short story writer. The story "Hotel of the Damned, Gazing on the Beach" was co-written by Lee and Tom Ribas, and subsequently published by Schlock Magazine. Lee's first full-length novel, Curse of the Twisted Rose, is available now from Grey Gecko Press.
