Our publishing company was founded in 1957 by Paolo Boringhieri focusing on science, mythology and ethnology. In 1987 Giulio Bollati joined the company, taking with him his expertise in history, philosophy , and literary fiction.Since then , the two souls of the publisher scientific studies and humanities have followed intertwined paths. Editorial Albatros was founded in 1950 and since then, it has proven its track record bearing the hallmarks of a solid family company with international presence.The work team includes editors, special series managers, consultants on juvenile content and professionals of the publishing industry. The company specializes in "niche publications", i.e., the development of books with special emphasis in particular subjects and the production of clear contents and practical proposals in close proximity to the reader. The main objective is to build bridges between the book and the reader and this is achieved with strategic commercial presence. Great Milestones in an Intense History The First Series (the 70's): On pets. The Homeopathy Series (1980): Launch of the complete academic series which went far beyond the Argentine border and was also sold translated into other languages. The Green Catalogue, Los que se van ("The Leaving Ones"). The Red Book on Argentine Nature (1994): Juan Carlos Chebez, together with the illustrator Aldo Chiape, created this work on species in danger of becoming extinct. First Appearance of the Series for Children titled Tus maravillas ("Your Wonders") (1995): The beginning of a new series of books created for funny, practical and interactive learning. Books on Arts and Crafts, Gastronomy, Home and Welfare (1995-2007): Keeping up with the practical specialized contents, Albatros went on publishing books mainly intended to the active and modern woman.

Plastik sparen - Initiative zur Vermeidung von Plastik im Alltag
Plastik sparen Die Geschichte einer Idee Die Idee für Plastik sparen ist im Juni 2018 entstanden. Wie schon so oft endete ein Wocheneinkauf im totalen Plastik-Inferno. Kennt ihr das? Einmal einkaufen beim Supermarkt um die Ecke und schon ist eine Mülltüte voll mit Plastik. Aber wie kann ich das ändern, fragte ich mich. Also informierte ich mich, war bei einem Vortrag zum Thema "plastikfrei leben" um dann mit dem Gefühl zurück zu bleiben, das nicht leisten zu können. Aber einfach weiter Plastik konsumieren war für mich auch keine Alternative. Es musste doch Möglichkeiten geben Plastik zu reduzieren, die Jedermann*frau ganz einfach in den Alltag einbauen kann. Und so war "Plastik sparen" geboren. Die Idee dahinter, durch viele kleine Plastik-spar-Aktivitäten den Plastikmüll in meinem Haushalt zu reduzieren. Und, ich kann sagen es funktioniert. Bei jedem Einkauf landet wesentlich weniger Plastikverpackung im Einkaufswagen als früher. Alles Aktivitäten, die keine (oder nur wenig) Zeit gekostet haben, die oftmals Geld gespart haben und die ich problemlos in den Alltag integrieren konnte. "Plastik sparen" ist unser Beitrag für eine Umwelt mit weniger Plastik. Meine Ideen, Gedanken und Erlebnisse möchte ich teilen und viele Menschen dafür begeistern, immer weniger Plastik in ihr Leben zu lassen.

Strange Days Books, Social Cooperative Enterprise
Strange Days Books is a social cooperative publishing firm based in Crete, Greece. Since 2012 we have published almost 100 books. Every year we organize Sand Festival, an online Writers’ Workshop and - in cooperation with www.eyelands.gr literary magazine - the one and only international short story competition based in Greece, plus our International Book Awards. In 2019 SDB was the only publishing house in Greece to receive approval by the European Union’s Creative Europe translation funding program for its project "Strange Days in Europe”. Strange Days Books is an entirely independent publisher, primarily interested in showcasing the wealth of new writing voices in Greece. We work closely with our authors to create books that will appeal to booklovers, books about the present, books that strive to push the art of literature forward, books written with talent and passion, books that challenge the way we see the world, books bursting with new ideas and intriguing perspectives.
