        China's giant Three Gorges Dam is the world's biggest hydropower plant located in the Three Gorges region in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Since its construction officially began in 1994, the higher water level has changed the scenery of the Three Gorges. In 1996, photographer Zheng Yunfeng arrived at the Three Gorges, hoping to document the scenery before it was swallowed by the rising water. He spent more than seven years taking over 50,000 photos of the gorges, based on which the series Three Gorges was produced.   The series Three Gorges is a selected collection of Zheng Yunfeng’s photography of the Three Gorges region, depicting living conditions, economic status, and customs and beliefs of local people with massive exquisite pictures and plain language.
