Egg Nutrition and Biotechnology
by Edited by Jeong S Sim, Shuryo Nakai, Wilhelm Guenter
Major research is now directed at improving the nutritional quality of eggs, and at using eggs in other products. Due to the decline in the consumption of eggs in the past few decades, researchers from many disciplines have been lead to look at the egg beyond its traditional food value, and to focus on economically viable biomedical, nutraceutical and ovo-biotechnologies.Written by international experts, this book is based on proceedings of the Second International Symposium on Egg Nutrition and Newly Emerging Ovo-Biotechnologies, held in Banff, Canada, in April 1998. It includes 39 chapters, covering food fats and health, egg consumption, egg lipids and nutrition, ovo-technologies, and food food safety.

Philosophie der Kunst
Vorlesung von 1826
by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Annemarie Gethmann-Siefert, Jeong-Im Kwon, Karsten Berr

Don't Believe Everything You Think
How to stop making decisions that let you down, lead you astray and keep you from success
by Colin J Browne
When it comes to making great decisions, the way you think about things is usually a lot more influential than what you actually think. If you ever hired a person who ‘looks the part’, dated someone who ‘gives you a good feeling’, voted for the party that ‘speaks the most sense’ or got into an investment that ‘cannot be missed’, only to realise you made a horrible mistake, you might have wondered how you ever talked yourself into it. Yet, still bearing the bruises, you’re likely to make exactly the same decision the next time. The beliefs that guide your ideas and the instincts that drive your actions, are all informed by your unconscious biases (and literally every single one of us has them), which irrationally tell us one thing is good and another is bad; one thing is absolutely true and another is utterly false; and make you act less smartly than you should. But the good news is that you can learn to see them, to manage them and ultimately overcome them. In Don’t Believe Everything You Think, Colin J Browne shows you how biases work, why they matter, and how to reframe your thinking to make well-founded decisions about life and work, relationships and investing, and much else in between, to vastly improve your chances of success.

A Healthy Pregnancy with Selected (Micro)Nutrients
by Uwe Gröber
Adequate nutrition and a healthy lifestyle – before and during pregnancy - are of great importance for a trouble-free pregnancy, birth, and the subsequent development of the child. Since the nutritional status before the onset of pregnancy influences both fertility and the course of pregnancy, including complications, the birth and breastfeeding, close attention should be paid to a healthy diet and adequate supply of essential (micro)nutrients well in advance and not only at the family planning stage. Poor micronutrient status prior to conception is often carried over into pregnancy, and can significantly increase the risk of pregnancy complications and, for example, lead to the dreaded spina bifida in the child. This patient guide tells you what you need to know! Various micronutrients are described in detail. Special emphasis is placed on the latest study results concerning pregnancy and nutrition.
