Set in a post-apocalyptic Philippines, Naermyth tells of a world plagued by the monsters of myth and legends who have stepped out of their storybook shadows to assume world dominion. They are the Naermyth (a word play on “never myth”) and have forced the human race close to extinction and fodder for the growing supremacy of these creatures. Among the survivors is Aegis, a seasoned soldier, and her story takes a dark turn when she rescues a stranger with mysterious abilities. Clearly, he is not human, and saving him triggers a series of revelations that challenges the meanings of monstrosity, heroism and family.
What on Earth am I? is Lara Salomon's and Megan Bird's first children's book together, investigating complex topics, like identity, diversity, and existentialism, for kids. It is a wonderful picture book for children with more questions than answers about the world. The book follows a young child’s over-active imagination, which often leaves them confused as to what kind of creature they are. They try their very best to discover the answer by recalling the many creatures that they've read about in their storybooks and fairytales. "I've been reading all these stories, and they've got me quite confused. Because they feature all these creatures, and I'm really not amused."
Mom and dad sometimes quarrel, and the family risks cracking, just like your favorite vase might break into small pieces. However, it is always worth trying to glue everything together. Olha Kupriyan wrote an insightful metaphorical story about a boy who is looking for "a superglue" for something very important in his life. The series 'Listen with your Heart' will help adults and children to talk over serious issues and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of emotions and feelings. From 3 to 6 years, 512 words. This is the story of a little but very curious kitten, Bonnie. One day a small red bug with black dots – a ladybug – lands directly on Bonnie’s nose. It was something Bonnie had never seen before. He got very curious on why a bug like that had such a peculiar name: сонечко, little sun . Was it because ladybugs, little suns were useful? Or because they lived up in the skies? Or maybe we all are little suns for those who love us? This book is part of a 3-books series. From 3 to 5 years, 625 words. Rightsholders: hanna.bulhakova@ranok-school.com
