Victorina Press was created by  Consuelo Rivera-Fuentes, a Chilean-British writer and academic. We are therefore rooted strongly in Chilean and British cultures. Our mission is to publish inspirational, quality books in the spirit of bibliodiversity, a concept developed by a group of Chilean independent publishers — Editores independientes de Chile. It encourages the celebration of a variety of voices from all over the world and prevents our publishing world from being a monolithic culture. Everyone has a story to tell. We want to be the ones to tell it. Consuelo’s Latin American roots play a huge role in our publishing today, with many of our books being translated into Spanish as stand alone or bilingual publications. Publishing everything from hard-hitting, inspirational memoirs, thrilling YA dystopias, gripping historical fiction, fun early learning, colourful, exciting children's books, literature for the classic shelf, and poetry to entice you, there is one book for every genre!

      • Inner Flower Child Books

We present to you a rhino that actually once circled the earth in the spaceship, an artist cat from Paris known by everyone, the adventures, and wanderlust of a tiny house, and love stories kissed by the sun... Curious? If you are looking for children's books with a universal message of hope and connectedness, we'd love the opportunity to meet with you. Inner Flower Child Books is a children's book publisher founded in California in 2012 by the creative team of author Susan Schaefer Bernardo (M.A. English Languages and Literature, Yale University) and illustrator Courtenay Fletcher (BFA Advertising/Graphic Design, Art Center College of Design). These artists and their team produce profound, touching, and humorously inspiring books that have become very successful in the US. With wittiness, humor, and intelligence — with rhymes at times — they create stories that promote children's language and social capabilities development. Partly because of that, Susan’s and Courtenay's picture books are used nationwide by schools, children's charities, therapists, and families across the United States to help children and youth heal from problems, large and small. At a time when the whole world is being hit by the trauma of a pandemic, books such as “Sun Kisses and Moon Hugs” bring children and young people a comforting message of love and connection. The colorfully illustrated and inspiring picture books contain generally assignable topics such as healing trauma, bringing people closer to living a sustainable life, and the power of creative expression — predestined to be successful worldwide. (Speaking of worldwide distribution: one of Susan’s and Courtenay's books, “The Rhino Who Swallowed The Storm” was sent to the International Space Station to orbit the planet — and was read aloud by astronaut Kate Rubins as part of the innovative “Story Time From Space” program and broadcasted! Apart from that, “The Rhino” was also promoted by former, then-incumbent First Lady Michelle Obama and present presidential candidate Joe Biden. For more information, please visit our website!). All Inner Flower Child Books titles are currently only published in the United States. Susan and Courtenay are therefore pleased to be able to offer publication and subsidiary rights on all other world markets for the first time. On our book fair landing page, you can find book trailers and details about our work: http://www.innerflowerchildbooks.com/buchmesse2020.html. We, the European representatives Anette and Leonie Waldeck, are happy to present the works of Inner Flower Child Books to you in the context of the Frankfurt book fair. Ideale und Illusionen

Dekonstruktion und Rekonstruktion in der kritischen Theorie

        by Thomas McCarthy, Joachim Schulte

        by Thomas McCarthy, Michael Müller

        by Tom McCarthy, Thomas Melle

Writing the Welsh borderlands in Anglo-Saxon England

by Lindy Brady, T. J. H. McCarthy, Stephen Mossman, Carrie Beneš, Jochen Schenk

This is the first study of the Anglo-Welsh border region in the period before the Norman arrival in England, from the fifth to the twelfth centuries. Its conclusions significantly alter our current picture of Anglo/Welsh relations before the Norman Conquest by overturning the longstanding critical belief that relations between these two peoples during this period were predominately contentious. Writing the Welsh borderlands in Anglo-Saxon England demonstrates that the region which would later become the March of Wales was not a military frontier in Anglo-Saxon England, but a distinctively mixed Anglo-Welsh cultural zone which was depicted as a singular place in contemporary Welsh and Anglo-Saxon texts. This study reveals that the region of the Welsh borderlands was much more culturally coherent, and the impact of the Norman Conquest on it much greater, than has been previously realised.

A oficina do Cambeva (Cambeva's workshop)

        by Lido Loschi

Cambeva's workshop is the first of four books of the collection "Presente de Vô" in partnership with Grupo Ponto de Partida. The book is a mixture of colours and elements that highlight the memory of the world, in which seekers of memories have the mission of bringing light and life to objects found in the travels of two characters: Zalém and Calunga. Cambeva is a restorer who, when the world lost its embrace, tried to reinvent it; he is the grandfather who mends dreams, forgotten things and lost emotions, to whom the seekers ask for help to fix something. In a magical universe, full of children, grandchildren, stories and memories of his lineage of restorers, when faced with this request for restoration, he makes room to bring back an emblematic figure who can no longer sing. A story about memories, care and affection...

        Music, scholasticism and reform

        Salian Germany 1024–1125

        by T. J. H. McCarthy

This fascinating study looks at music and its intellectual context in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. Drawing on a rich body of theoretical literature and manuscript sources, this book paints a detailed picture of the study of music in eleventh-and early twelfth-century Germany. It focuses on the activity of a group of prominent intellectuals based in the monastic and cathedral schools of the German Kingdom, charting their sources and shared concerns, while subtly examining their reception and modification of each others' ideas. Distilling a considerable amount of German scholarship, it situates music in its proper place among other intellectual developments that took place in eleventh-century Germany. This book is above all a study of motivations and thought processes of a group of medieval thinkers: it and will appeal to specialist and non-specialist ecclesiastical, intellectual and cultural historians, as well as to historians of music and of medieval culture.

        Oikoá

        by Felipe Valério

The name of this book is Oikoá, which means life in the language of the Guarani Mbya people. This name was chosen because the indigenous peoples have been the guardians of life on planet Earth: it is in their territories that there are more types of trees and plants, animals, fish, birds, insects, and where the rivers and forests are best preserved.

The Best of H. P. Lovecraft

        by H. P. Lovecraft, Rudolf Hermstein, H. C. Artmann

        EcoGothic

by Elisabeth Bronfen, William Hughes, Andrew Smith, Steven Bruhm, Ken Gelder, Jerrold Hogle, Avril Horner, William Hughes

This book will provide the first study of how the Gothic engages with ecocritical ideas. Ecocriticism has frequently explored images of environmental catastrophe, the wilderness, the idea of home, constructions of 'nature', and images of the post-apocalypse - images which are also central to a certain type of Gothic literature. By exploring the relationship between the ecocritical aspects of the Gothic and the Gothic elements of the ecocritical, this book provides a new way of looking at both the Gothic and ecocriticism. Writers discussed include Ann Radcliffe, Mary Shelley, Ambrose Bierce, Algernon Blackwood, Margaret Atwood, Cormac McCarthy, Dan Simmons and Rana Dasgupta. The volume thus explores writing and film across various national contexts including Britain, America and Canada, as well as giving due consideration to how such issues might be discussed within a global context.
