Mayers kleines Buchregal
Hello and welcome to my presentation! I am Uwe Mayer, freelance Illustrator, author, designer and now also publisher of my children's picture book „DIE LAUFMASCHINE“, or in the English translation: “The Bicycling Baron". The book playfully tells the story of the invention of the bicycle from the very start. As a subject long overdue, it is original, based on fact and yet told in a humorous and original format with great illustrations throughout. DIE LAUFMASCHINE won the 1st prize from the State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) for its original idea & concept in 2017. With further funding I was in the lucky position to not only create this important book project, but also publish it in 2019. Die Laufmaschine was nominated by the STIFTUNG BUCHKUNST for “Most Beautiful German Books" („Die Schönsten Deutschen Bücher“), Long List 2019. For this title I am offering foreign rights.

The Deep
by Mayur Vayeda, Tushar Vayeda
Two young artists from the indigenous Warli community in western India travel from the familiarity of home to the faraway land of Japan. Their fabulously rendered journey resonates with another journey, of discovering how water connects all life - from the humans on the surface to the creatures at the very depths of the ocean. The Deep is a reflection on what is known, and what remains unknown to us all. This hand-bound book has been silkscreen-printed by hand on recycled cotton paper. The marbling pattern on each cover is unique, and made by capturing colour on the surface of water at a moment in time. This book comes with short films depicting the artists' lives and the making of the book. Discover more about the project by watching short films about the artists’ lives and the making of the book at tarabooks.com/thedeepfilms.

Underutilized and Underexploited Horticultural Crops: Vol 05
by K.V. Peter
"Globally there is concern for diminishing nutritional security. Land under agriculture is dwindling, water for irrigation becoming scarce and costly and availability of labour getting lesser, the need for future crops and alternate source of nutrition is getting attention. Under CGIAR, an all inclusive future crops international has been established to bring to light underexploited and underutilized crops. Horticultural crops especially vegetables, fruits, ornamentals, medicinal plants and aromatic plants are unique in presence of a large number of plants with possibility for edible uses and considerable nutritive value. Many are wild weeds in one part of the globe but edible and consumed in another part of the globe. A few such plants are used for phytosanitation and phytoremediation but are getting attention as raw materials for biofuel production. Energy and water are two natural resources getting threat due to climate change resulting global warming and ozone depletion."
