April 1810 trägt Goethe in sein Tagebuch ein: »Die Stanzen des ›Tagebuch‹ abgeschrieben.« Goethe schätzte sein Gedicht, er las es Freunden vor, und doch verbot er die Veröffentlichung.›Das Tagebuch‹ tauchte erst im zweiten oder dritten Jahrzehnt des zwanzigsten Jahrhundert in den authentischen Goethe-Editionen auf und blieb bis heute von Wissenschaft und Kritik unbeachtet. Dabei ist es ein großes Gedicht, ein Liebesgedicht, mit einem Jahrtausendreim dazu.Eines Tages im Jahre 1913 las Kippenberg seinem Autor Rilke dieses Gedicht vor, Rilke war »fasziniert«, er machte sogleich eine Abschrift. Die Kenntnis dieses wie auch anderer Gedichte von Goethe hatte ihren Anteil, daß Rilke sein kritisches Goethe-Bild änderte und kurze Zeit danach seine ›Phallischen Hymnen‹ schrieb.Band 1000 bietet Goethes Gedicht, Siegfried Unselds Abhandlung »Goethes Gedicht ›Das Tagebuch‹ und seine Folge bei Rilke« und den Text von Rilkes ›Phallischen Hymnen‹.

Zu Ostern 1789 erschien Goethes Aufsatz Das Römische Carneval, in dem er plastisch das römische Volksleben beschreibt. Gerühmt als »das schönste typographische Werk, das uns von deutschen Büchern auf deutschem Grund und Boden je zu Gesicht kam«, fand der Erstdruck von Goethes Römischem Carneval bei seinem Erscheinen zur Frühjahrsbuchmesse nicht zuletzt im Hinblick auf seine buchgestalterische Aufmachung Beachtung. Besonderes Augenmerk galt dabei der Titelvignette von Johann Heinrich Lips und den zwanzig illuminierten Kupfertafeln von Georg Melchior Kraus nach Zeichnungen von Georg Schütz, welch letztere den Anlaß zu dem Aufsatz gegeben hatten. Sämtliche Figurinen sind in der vorliegenden Ausgabe enthalten. Siegfried Unseld beschreibt die Entstehungs- und Wirkungsgeschichte sowie die kulturgeschichtliche Bedeutung des Werkes, das ein halbes Jahr vor Ausbruch der Französischen Revolution verfaßt wurde.

Her second known book is "The Lure of Happiness" (Carmel, Jerusalem). She was the director at the Van Leer Foundation (1977-1980) and an advisor on social and welfare policy to the Israel prime ministers Yitzhak Rabin, Yitzhak Shamir and Shimon Peres. From 1990-1992 she began taking care of street cats who constituted a community in her garden. This book is based on 14 years of observation. She continues to take care of street cats and is about to write a second book on this subject.
