Zuvor veröffentlichte er im hier vorliegenden Rarissimum die erste gedruckte Anleitung des „Spiels der Hoffnung“, aus dem die genannten Orakelkarten hervorgegangen sind. Das umfangreiche Nachwort erklärt die Hintergründe dieser Entwicklung und zeichnet das Leben Hechtels samt seinem familiären Hintergrund anhand der verstreuten Quellen nach. Erstmals ist damit auch die genaue Inhaberschaft der Hechtelschen Messingfabrik in Nürnberg geklärt.
