      • Get Fresh Books Publishing

Get Fresh Books Publishing is a non-profit, cooperative press devoted to amplifying diverse voices in poetry and making the publication process accessible to marginalized communities. Our primary objective is to provide opportunities for underrepresented voices by eliminating economic and societal barriers, such as submission fees and contests, which may inhibit marginalized voices from contributing to the literary conversation. As a cooperative press, we encourage manuscript submissions from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities and people living with mental illnesses. By doing so, we explicitly reject any “ism” or phobia which seeks to suppress the voices of those who receive insufficient or inadequate representation in literature.    In the four short years of our founding, we have been able to preserve our commitment to diversity and inclusivity by publishing the work of 12 talented and distinct poets, whose poetry cover a wide range of topics from ethnicity, sexuality and religion to immigration, suicide and discrimination. Our press’s cooperative process of integrating the ideas and skills of our poets, editors and publisher have given us the ability to bring fresh and diverse voices into the literary world. With the help of donations, grants and private investments, we have been able to publish each literary work without charging a single submission fee to ensure that poets and writers of all ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, abilities, and economic statuses would have their voices heard.

        Ein Leben ist nicht genug

        Tagebuchaufzeichnungen und Briefe

by Maxie Wander, Fred Wander, Fred Wander

        Invasive Birds

        Global Trends and Impacts

by Colleen T. Downs, Lorinda A. Hart

This book is about globally invasive alien birds. It consists of three sections. In the first section, a species account for each of the 32 global avian invader species (as listed by the Invasive Species Specialist Group, ISSG) is provided. Here experts currently conducting or who have previously researched these species provide detailed, up-to-date information of these birds and their current invasive status on a global scale, with images of the species and distribution maps. Details provided include physical description, diet, introduction and invasion pathway, breeding behaviour, habitat, impacts of species, control and any uses for this species. In the second section, avian invasions are discussed biogeographically, further highlighting aspects of current and emerging invasive species in different countries. In the third section, the ecology and impacts of avian invasive species is considered. Beamte, Schulden, Elegantes Leben

Zur Sozialphysionomik des Alltagslebens. Eine Auswahl aus dem journalistischen Schriften. Mit einem Nachwort herausgegeben von Wolfgang Drost und Karl Riha

by Honoré Balzac, Karl Riha, Wolfgang Drost, W. Fred, Wolfgang Drost

        Beef, Bible and bullets

Brazil in the age of Bolsonaro

        by Richard Lapper, Leighton Pugh

Backed by Brazil's wealthy agribusiness groups, a growing evangelical movement, and an emboldened military and police force, Jair Bolsonaro took office in 2019. Driven by the former army captain's brand of controversial, aggressive rhetoric, the divisive presidential campaign saw fake news and misinformation shared with Bolsonaro's tens of millions of social media followers. Bolsonaro promised simple solutions to Brazil's rising violent crime, falling living standards and widespread corruption, but what has emerged is Latin America's most right-wing president since the military dictatorships of the 1970s. Famous for his racist, homophobic and sexist beliefs and his disregard for human rights, the so-called 'Trump of the Tropics' has established a reputation based on his polemical, sensationalist statements. Written by a journalist with decades of experience in the field, Beef, Bible and bullets is a compelling account of the origins of Brazil's unique brand of right-wing populism. Lapper offers the first major assessment of the Bolsonaro government and the growing tensions between extremist and moderate conservatives.

        Nutrition and Feeding Organic Cattle

        by Robert Blair

Organic cattle farming is on the increase, with consumer demand for organic milk and meat growing yearly. Beginning with an overview of the aims and principles behind organic cattle production, this book presents extensive information about how to feed cattle so that the milk and meat produced meet organic standards, and provides a comprehensive summary of ruminant digestive processes and nutrition. Since the publication of the first edition, global consumers have increasingly become concerned with the sustainability of meat production. Here, Robert Blair considers the interrelationships of sustainable practices and profitability of organic herds, reviewing how to improve forage production and quality, and minimizing the need for supplementary feeding using off-farm ingredients. This new edition also covers: - Managing a recurrent shortage of organic feed ingredients, due to increased GM feed crop cultivation worldwide - Current findings on appropriate breeds and grazing systems for forage-based organic production - Diet-related health issues in organic herds and the effects of organic production on meat and milk quality. Required reading for animal science researchers, advisory personnel that service the organic milk and beef industries and students interested in organic milk and meat production, this book is also a useful resource for organic farming associations, veterinarians, and feed and food industry personnel.

        Freiheit und Pflicht

Thomas Hobbes' politische Theorie. Frankfurter Adorno-Vorlesungen 2005.

        by Quentin Skinner, Karin Wördemann
