        We present to you a rhino that actually once circled the earth in the spaceship, an artist cat from Paris known by everyone, the adventures, and wanderlust of a tiny house, and love stories kissed by the sun... Curious? If you are looking for children's books with a universal message of hope and connectedness, we'd love the opportunity to meet with you. Inner Flower Child Books is a children's book publisher founded in California in 2012 by the creative team of author Susan Schaefer Bernardo (M.A. English Languages and Literature, Yale University) and illustrator Courtenay Fletcher (BFA Advertising/Graphic Design, Art Center College of Design). These artists and their team produce profound, touching, and humorously inspiring books that have become very successful in the US. With wittiness, humor, and intelligence — with rhymes at times — they create stories that promote children's language and social capabilities development. Partly because of that, Susan’s and Courtenay's picture books are used nationwide by schools, children's charities, therapists, and families across the United States to help children and youth heal from problems, large and small. At a time when the whole world is being hit by the trauma of a pandemic, books such as “Sun Kisses and Moon Hugs” bring children and young people a comforting message of love and connection. The colorfully illustrated and inspiring picture books contain generally assignable topics such as healing trauma, bringing people closer to living a sustainable life, and the power of creative expression — predestined to be successful worldwide. (Speaking of worldwide distribution: one of Susan’s and Courtenay's books, “The Rhino Who Swallowed The Storm” was sent to the International Space Station to orbit the planet — and was read aloud by astronaut Kate Rubins as part of the innovative “Story Time From Space” program and broadcasted! Apart from that, “The Rhino” was also promoted by former, then-incumbent First Lady Michelle Obama and present presidential candidate Joe Biden. For more information, please visit our website!). All Inner Flower Child Books titles are currently only published in the United States. Susan and Courtenay are therefore pleased to be able to offer publication and subsidiary rights on all other world markets for the first time. In der Sache J. Robert Oppenheimer

        Ein szenischer Bericht

        by Heinar Kipphardt

        Fußball-Oden

        by Albert Ostermaier, Florian Süssmayr

Margaret Cavendish

        by Emma Rees

        Margaret Cavendish was one of the most prolific, complex and misunderstood writers of the seventeenth century. A contemporary of Descartes and Hobbes, she was fascinated by philosophical, scientific and imaginative advances, and struggled to overcome the political and cultural obstacles which threatened to stop her engagement with such discourses. Emma Rees examines how Cavendish engaged with the work of thinkers such as Lucretius, Plato, Homer and Harvey in an attempt to write her way out of the exile which threatened not only her intellectual pursuits but her very existence. What emerges is the image of an intelligent, audacious and intrepid early modern woman whose tale will appeal to specialists and general readers alike. ;

        Maulwürfe

        by Günter Eich, Florian Ruhig

        »Was ich schreibe, sind Maulwürfe« – so Günter Eich (1907–1972) in seiner »Präambel« zu den Prosaskizzen dieses Namens, mit denen er die Menagerie der literarischen Gattungen bereicherte. Doch was sind Maulwürfe? Maulwürfe graben sich ein und wühlen auf, sie unterminieren den Rasen, sind allgegenwärtig und unsichtbar. Sie bewegen sich in der Traumwelt der Phantasie oder in der Phantasiewelt des Traumes, ihr Material ist die Sprache, hier wird zitiert wie Espenlaub, die Fensterlosigkeit des Nomaden wird gegen einen Nachbarn namens Leibniz bestritten, und den Schulterreiter wird man auch dann nicht los, wenn man sich mit ihm zusammen betrinkt. Wer sich diesen Ausflug ins Anspielungsreich versagt, in dem sich bei jeder Lektüre neue Gänge auftun, ist selbst daran schuld. Diese Ausgabe enthält alle Maulwürfe der Erstausgabe von 1968. Die eigens für diesen Band angefertigten Bilder von Florian Ruhig greifen vor allem die zahlreichen Tiermotive der Texte auf und setzten den teils sarkastischen, teils melancholischen Humor, der Eichs Prosa kennzeichnet, in eine rebusartige Bildsprache um: »Deinen Maulwürfen entgehst du nicht.«

        Kleine Finger

        Roman

        by Filip Florian, Georg Aescht

        In einem Karpatenstädtchen wird in den Ruinen einer römischen Festung ein Massengrab entdeckt. Alles scheint auf ein Verbrechen aus kommunistischer Zeit hinzudeuten. Da die Bevölkerung den Ermittlungen der zuständigen Militärstaatsanwälte nicht traut, werden argentinische Experten nach Rumänien geholt, die mit der Suche und Identifizierung der "Verschwundenen", den Opfern der Junta, befaßt waren. Die Suche nach der Wahrheit, die nur zersplittert, perspektivisch, als Wahrheit einzelner Menschen zu haben ist, bestimmt auch die Dramaturgie des Romans. Im Zentrum steht der Archäologe Petrus, der sich der allgemeinen Hysterie entzieht und eigene Forschungen anstellt. Morgens sitzt er in der Gemeindebibliothek, die Nachmittage verbringt er bei Tante Paulina, die ihm aus dem Kaffeesatz liest, bei Lady Embury, der Witwe eines britischen Erdölingenieurs, oder bei Dumitru M., einem früheren Unternehmer, der nach dem Krieg enteignet wurde. Die abenteuerlichen und wundersamen Lebensgeschichten, auf die Petrus stößt und die Filip Florian mit großer Sprach- und Imaginationskraft erzählt, lassen Epochen des 20. Jahrhunderts in Europa und Lateinamerika wiederauferstehen. Sein Roman schildert eine von Diktaturen malträtierte Welt, die sich nach Gerechtigkeit sehnt.

        Court and civic society in the Burgundian Low Countries c.1420–1530

        by Andrew Brown, Graeme Small

        This volume is the first ever attempt to unite and translate some of the key texts which informed Johan Huizinga's famous study of the Burgundian court, The Waning of the Middle Ages, a work which has never gone out of print. It combines these texts with sources that Huizinga did not consider, those that illuminate the wider civic world that the Burgundian court inhabited and the dynamic interaction between court and city. Through these sources, and an introduction offering new perspectives on recent historiography, the book tests whether Huizinga's controversial vision of the period still stands. Covering subjects including ceremonial events, such as the spectacles and gargantuan banquets that made the Burgundian dukes the talk of Europe, the workings of the court, and jousting, archery and rhetoric competitions, the book will appeal to students of late medieval and early modern Europe and to those with wider interests in court culture, ritual and ceremony.

        Geoffrey Hill and the ends of poetry

        by Tom Docherty

        The idea of the end is an essential motivic force in the poetry of Geoffrey Hill (1932-2016). This book shows that Hill's poems are characteristically 'end-directed'. They tend towards consummations of all kinds: from the marriages of meanings in puns, or of words in repeating figures and rhymes, to syntactical and formal finalities. The recognition of failure to reach such ends provides its own impetus to Hill's poetry. This is the first book on Hill to take account of his last works. It is a significant contribution to the study of Hill's poems, offering a new thematic reading of his entire body of work. By using Hill's work as an example, the book also touches on questions of poetry's ultimate value: what are its ends and where does it wish to end up?

        J. M. W. Turner

        The making of a modern artist

        by Sam Smiles, Alan Rutter

        Alone of his contemporaries, J.M.W. Turner is commonly held to have prefigured modern painting, as signalled in the existence of The Turner Prize for contemporary art. Our celebration of his achievement is very different to what Victorian critics made of his art. This book shows how Turner was reinvented to become the artist we recognise today. On Turner's death in 1851 he was already known as an adventurous, even baffling, painter. But when the Court of Chancery decreed that the contents of his studio should be given to the nation, another side of his art was revealed that effected a wholescale change in his reputation. This book acts as a guide to the reactions of art writers and curators from the 1850s to the 1960s as they attempted to come to terms with his work. It documents how Turner was interpreted and how his work was displayed in Britain, in Europe and in North America, concentrating on the ways in which his artistic identity was manipulated by art writers, by curators at the Tate and by designers of exhibitions for the British Council and other bodies. ;

        Das Vokabular der Psychoanalyse

        by J. Laplanche, J.-B. Pontalis, Emma Moersch, Daniel Lagache

        Der Psychoanalytiker J. Laplanche und der Philosoph J.-B. Pontalis haben die gesamte psychoanalytische Literatur durchgearbeitet und zu einem »Vokabular der Psychoanalyse« zusammengetragen. Das Vokabular definiert nicht nur die von Freud und einigen seiner Schüler eingeführten und mittlerweile über die halbe Welt verbreiteten Ausdrücke, sondern erörtert ihre Entstehung, ihre Wandlungen, ihren heutigen Status, um ihre Bedeutung innerhalb der psychoanalytischen Theorie und Praxis zu entschlüsseln. Der gesamte begriffliche Apparat der Psychoanalyse wird so unter drei Gesichtspunkten analysiert: Geschichte, Struktur, Problematik.
