This work looks at the Iraq-Iran war from a different perspective. The novel does not deal directly with the war but depicts the tragic situations of human beings in a war in different situations. A soldier and his lieutenant go to the top of a snowy mountain to scout and identify the dead soldiers’ bodies. The soldier tells the story. The lieutenant is happy and carefree, but the soldier, who is in constant fear of death, talks more about death and destruction than anything else. The story revolves around these two characters until the assistant lieutenant goes there to watch. The soldier remembers the deaths of other warriors. There is no new news to keep the frightened soldier out of boredom. He and the lieutenant find a Chinese fortune-telling book and a set of card games. The lieutenant wants to tell the soldier's horoscope, but his only question is how he dies. The soldier tries to find new entertainment in that cold and soulless atmosphere. The arrival of an assistant lieutenant could be good but it turns out the opposite, and the lieutenant and the assistant lieutenant first have a verbal conflict and then a quarrel. The assistant lieutenant tries to suffocate the lieutenant. The soldier shoots and kills him. Now he is worried that the lieutenant will expose him, so he kills the lieutenant, too. The moment has come when he can determine for himself how to die. As he knows that with what he has done, execution awaits him, reports to the headquarter to shoot at the exact place where he is standing!
