As truffle-seeking pigs, we have developed an acute nose to find texts of authors from past and actual times. As rabbits we jump here and there tracking down illustrators with new proposals. And as eagles we strive to see, from a distance, how image and texts can coexist in harmony. In sum, our catalogue has been conceived as a living creature; one that begun as something very little, like bear cubs, but capable of becoming a fabulous living being; one that combines the best qualities of noble animals and have the power to captivate us.

EXCAVANDO LA CIUDAD DE DAVID – El lugar en el que comenzף la historia de Jerusalיn Las investigaciones arqueológicas llevadas a cabo en los 150 últimos años han identificado a la colina sudoriental de Jerusalén, fuera de las murallas de la Ciudad Vieja, como la Ciudad de David bíblica. El reconocimiento cada vez mayor de que esta colina es efectivamente la parte más antigua de Jerusalén ha llevado a muchos estudiosos a excavarla. Desde las primeras excavaciones hechas por Charles Warren en 1867 hasta el presente, catorce expediciones arqueológicas han trabajado allí, lo que ha hecho que la Ciudad de David sea uno de los sitios más excavados de Israel. Equipos británicos, alemanes, franceses e israelíes han excavado en el lugar bajo cuatro autoridades diferentes: el gobierno otomano, el mandato británico, el gobierno jordano y el israelí y han producido una asombrosa cantidad de información. Algunos de estos restos son de importancia única, entre ellos el túnel de Ezequías, el sistema de túneles conocido como el pozo de Warren, la inscripción del túnel de Siloé, la inscripción de Teodoto, y el estanque de Siloé. De 1969 a 1978 tomó parte en las excavaciones dirigidas por el catedrático Nahman Avigad en el Barrio Judío de Jerusalén. Desde 1995 ha sido co-director de las excavaciones en la Ciudad de David. El profesor Reich es egresado de la Universidad Hebrea de Jerusalén, donde escribió su tesis de doctorado acerca de los baños rituales judíos en la época del Segundo Templo. Desde 1995 es catedrático de Arqueología en la Universidad de Haifa. Esta obra ofrece una dimensión transversal de la historia del espacio de las catedrales a partir de su uso y sus transformaciones, a través de las constantes que realmente determinaron la construcción de cada edificio: la liturgia, la historia institucional y ceremonial, las fiestas locales o la vida cotidiana. Cada catedral fue una entidad autónoma que se rigió por leyes y estatutos propios que también afectaron a su historia arquitectónica y funcional. Desde la perspectiva del clero, la catedral se concentraba entre el altar mayor y el coro, con la organización del culto y sus posibles escenarios. Para reyes y autoridades, la catedral era el marco en el que justificar los orígenes divinos de su gobierno. Para los fieles, la catedral era el gran edificio que albergaba sus señas de identidad, entre las celebraciones y los santos de su devoción; un eslabón arquitectónico entre tierra y cielo. Pero con el paso del tiempo los usos del espacio catedralicio cambiaban y se alteraban. Es, al fin y al cabo, la historia de un espacio edificado en constante transformación.

With an agile, precise and sustained style Música Contra los Muros explores the influence of music on the human being in extreme circumstances. Different choral voices immerse the reader in the geopolitical labyrinth of the Middle East and tell a true and little-known story: that of famous musicians who canceled all their commitments and voluntarily traveled to Israel to encourage their compatriots who were fighting at the front. Against this backdrop, suggestive narrative threads are woven: the passionate romance of the pianist Daniel Barenboim with the cellist Jacqueline du Pré during the Six Day War; the account of Israeli soldiers, whose voices were censored for forty years, forced to participate in a war in which they did not believe; or the torn lives of thousands of Palestinians who, since the occupation, lost the right to a decent and dignified life.
