You are welcome to contact us: if you want more information about our grants programmes (Grants Wizard) to let us know about a publisher abroad that’s interested in Finnish literature if you are a translator from Finnish/Finland-Swedish/Sámi and you’re not in our records yet to tell us about a new translation of a Finnish book that’s not in our database if you have questions about literary exports.   Networks FILI constitutes part of the NordLit network, along with similar organisations from the other Nordic countries. We hold regular meetings together where we plan our future operations and joint projects. We have a shared Nordic presence at some publishing trade events, such as the London Book Fair. In 2015 NordLit had a joint Nordic stand at the Beijing International Book Fair and the Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair. In Finland, FILI is a member of the TAIVE network of arts information centres. Unlike Finnish information centres for many other artistic genres, FILI does not have a mandate or specific duties to perform here in Finland; instead, our focus is on activities outside Finland. Thus we refer to ourselves in Finnish as a literary export organisation.

        Hotel California

        by Ramón Valdés Elizondo

Damián flees from two assassins who are chasing him on a lonely desert road. He manages to elude them but his car is running out of gas. In the distance he discovers a hotel that looks abandoned from the outside. He knocks on the door and is greeted by Mercedes, a beautiful blonde who invites him in. Inside the hotel is spectacular: every detail is taken care of to perfection, but there is something shady lurking within its walls and corridors. Damián thinks he hears voices calling his name, although he attributes them to stress and fatigue. Our anguished protagonist lives a terrifying experience when he tries to leave the next day and inexplicable things happen that prevent him from doing so. Suddenly, Damian will be trapped in this place that changes, that whispers, that makes us doubt if he is living a nightmare or if everything is a product of his hallucinations. A novel written to the rhythm of rock, with nods to horror classics and a twist that will take you to a place you may never be able, or want, to leave.

        Schatten über Innsmouth

        Eine Horrorgeschichte

by H. P. Lovecraft, Rudolf Hermstein, Franz Rottensteiner
