        Negroponte

        by Mary Kontzoglou

Mary’s Kontzoglou newest duology is named “Rust and Gold” and is inspired by the real-life story of the Vamvaka family. Through the tumult of 19th century Greece, where the middle class started to form, the siblings Antonis and Avgoustina Vamvaka strive to achieve their dream: creating the best spirit in the world. The first book is titled "Negroponte" and the second "Porto Leone", from the names of the two important ports of the period, Chalkida and Peraeus.
