Enseñemos paz, aprendamos paz: la pedagogía al servicio de la cohesión social

        by Juan David Enciso

Peace is an idea, an abstract concept, which must be grounded in concrete realities. And building peace involves moving from an initial state, which may or may not be conflict, to a second moment in which people have learned to know, relate, meet, and live together.   This book tries to elaborate on the construction of peace from an educational process, in which individuals learn to recognize themselves as subjects of equal dignity and with the capacity to carry out projects oriented to the common good. Similarly, educational settings, the so-called learning environments, are not confined exclusively to the walls of the classroom or the boundaries of formal education institutions: peace education occurs in any environment in which two or more coincide. people with potential conflicts of interest or collective construction.

        Ola de frio

        by Diego Pita

Cold wave isn’t a novel about drugs and alcohol, nor is it a descent to the hell of substance abuse. It’s also not a novel about the economic crisis and how it changed Madrid forever. It’s not the story of individual or collective failure. It’s not only the devastating portrait of loneliness and desperation. It’s not a treaty on crude sexuality. In no case is it a moral tale, it doesn’t contain a message or ethical lesson. Everything mentioned above can be found in the pages of Cold wave, but it also contains the complete opposite. There is abstinence and redemption. There is a deep and urgent desire of finding peace and meaning to an empty life. There is a remote but growing whisper of hope. It’s the portrait of a regained vital impulse that fights to escape an inherited curse. The first trace of a sketch of the life that lays in front and, at the same time, the mourning of one wasted. A devastating change of skin that is born with the first frozen night of a Madrid winter.

        Early emotional education

        by Gloria Latorre

The family is the first modeler of interpersonal relationships. In it all the richness of the emotional world unfolds. That is why it is key to teach our children from birth to build their own path to inner well-being, through self-knowledge and the skills to manage their emotions. This will help them from the beginning of their lives to connect with the other from empathy and compassion. “This book offers us a journey to recognize the emotions in our relationships. On each page, it offers us pauses to reflect, realize and experiment, allowing true learning. It is a companion for travelers such as parents, teachers, psychologists and for all of us who work in accompaniment ”. Jorge Genzone, President of the Gestalt Association of Buenos Aires

        Cien noches (A hundred nights)

        by Luisgé Martín

HERRALDE PRIZE 2020 - Approximately half of us confess to being sexually unfaithful to our partners. But are the other half telling the truth or are they lying?   There is only one way to find out: use private detectives or electronic surveillance to observe their lives. This novel proposes an anthropological experiment: to monitor six thousand people without their consent, so that we finally have reliable data about sexual behaviour in our societies. Irene, the novel’s protagonist, is searching for the secrets of the human soul in our sexuality. She travels from Madrid to Chicago to study psychology, and there, far from her family, she embarks upon a scientific analysis of the men she meets and the men she sleeps with. Her cold investigator’s gaze changes, however, when she falls in love with an Argentinian, Claudio, who has a painful secret and whose family has a dark past linked to his country’s history. Cien noches is a novel about the human heart, an exploration of our erotic lives, and the tale of police attempts to track down a murderer who has left no trace of his crime. Cien noches explores the different forms love can take, including its most radical and extreme versions, and the variety of our sexual behaviours, some of which are similarly radical and extreme. It records the loyalty, the infidelity, the unmentionable desires, taboos, half-truths and deceptions that are an essential part of our relationships. It talks of masks and lies. And it playfully incorporates a series of adultery case studies written for Luisgé Martín by Edurne Portela, Manuel Vilas, Sergio del Molino, Lara Moreno and José Ovejero, in a thought-provoking exercise in literary promiscuity.

        Amazonas con pincel

        by Victoria Combalía

This book proposes a fascinating, clear and didactic journey through the life and work of women artists. Camille Claudel, Frida Kahlo or Dora Maar, among others, occupy the pages of this book illustrating a wide time period and their corresponding styles, from Impressionism to the 1940s of the 20th century. This work constitutes a corrected and enlarged part of Amazonas con brush, a book published in 2006. The texts seek a balance between the historical importance of the creators and the interest in their life, which sheds much light on the difficulties of being a woman and artist at the same time. For this reason, special attention has been paid to their working conditions, their success or neglect of their careers, and those who were able to encourage them or, on the contrary, silence them. They fought, like men, to express their vision of the world and renew artistic language, but in a social context far removed from equal opportunities. This book written by Victoria Combalía was in 2006 the first publication that was published in Spain focused on women artists.
