Das »kühle« französische Kino hat jedoch bei aller Schärfe immer auch von Sehnsucht gehandelt und davon, wie Gefühle verwischen, was klar vor Augen steht. Für eine gewisse Stimmung im Hollywood der Kriegs- und Nachkriegsjahre haben die Franzosen den Ausdruck film noir geprägt und die Düsternis in der Schattenwelt der Vorbilder in andere Farbtemperaturen überführt, in ein bläuliches Licht, das mit den grauen Pariser Dächern harmoniert. All ihre Filme haben sich weniger durch Erzählmuster definiert als durch ihre Atmosphäre. Albert Ostermaiers Gedichte erzählen davon, was diese Filme und ihre Geschichten mit uns anstellen, wie sie in uns weiterwirken und welche Abdrücke sie in unserem Empfinden hinterlassen. Weil sie den seltsamen Wegen nachspüren, mit denen die Bilder uns in ihren Bann schlagen.

        De-centering queer theory seeks to reorient queer theory to a different conception of bodies and sexuality derived from Eastern European Marxism. The book articulates a contrast between the concept of the productive body, which draws its epistemology from Soviet and avant-garde theorists, and Cold War gender, which is defined as the social construction of the body. The first part of the book concentrates on the theoretical and visual production of Eastern European Marxism, which proposed an alternative version of sexuality to that of western liberalism. In doing so it offers a historical angle to understand the emergence not only of an alternative epistemology, but also of queer theory's vocabulary. The second part of the book provides a Marxist, anti-capitalist archive for queer studies, which often neglects to engage critically with its liberal and Cold War underpinnings.

        The book is devoted to the most tragic period of the history of the Crimean Tatar people - the deportation of 1944. It describes the lives of the expelled people in foreign lands as well as tells us a story of long and self-sacrificing struggle of the Crimean Tatars for the right to return to their homeland. It is a detailed research of the history of the Crimean Tatar national movement and contains a lot of quotes from the Crimean Tatars’ self-publishing press as well as citations from the traditionally friendly to the Crimean Tatars Moscow editions of that times. An author also reinforced her research by analysis of many documents that were found in the Crimean, Kyiv and Moscow archives as well as by the interview with the most famous and respected member of the movement, leader of Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Djemilev, who was a prisoner of conscience many times during Soviet era. Mustafa Djemilev also wrote an introduction to the book. According to the author, resistance of Crimean Tatars to the criminal policy of the Moscow authorities and the refusal of Russian authorities to fulfil the just demands of the Crimean Tatar people are two different fronts of the national struggle of Crimean Tatar people. Despite the victory of the Crimean Tatars and their return to their homeland a quarter century ago, the struggle at the both fronts continues.

        Greenland is becoming a critically important territory in terms of tourism, climate change and competition for resource access, yet it has been poorly represented in academic literature. Tourism now features as a major source of income for the territory alongside fisheries. Cruise tourism is increasing rapidly, and might superficially appear to be best suited to Greenlandic conditions, given the lack of large-scale accommodation infrastructure and almost non-existent land routes between settlements. Ironically, one of the most spectacular tourist attractions is the large number of icebergs that are being calved as the result of glacier retreat and ice cap melting, both appearing to be taking place at ever increasing rates. As a consequence of ice removal, the territory's claimed extensive range of mineral resources, not least rare earth elements and hydrocarbons, are becoming more accessible for exploitation and, thereby, are acting increasingly as the focus for geopolitical competition. This book explores the nature of dynamics between tourism, climate change and the geopolitics of natural resource exploitation in the Arctic and examines their interrelationships specifically in the critical context of Greenland, but within a framework that emphasises the wider global implications of the outcomes of such interrelationships. This book is the first to explore these interrelationships in depth in English.

The suicide of his former lover in despair awakens him and he retires to a seclusive life in a graveyard. His successor Tong Heizi continues his way of practice and Hantong Group still dominates the village. His elder brother Tong Chengzhi resigns from his official post and returns to the village. This causes great uneasiness to Tong Heizi, who sets off on the road of no-return on a snowy night. Han Dianyi, full of remorse, tells people the secret why he has painfully guarded the graveyard for more than ten years. Tong Chengzhi takes over Hantong Group while Han Dianyi holds the ashes of his former lover and enters the tomb he has dug for himself. The whole novel, set in a heavy and gloomy atmosphere, features sharp and poignant language.
