At Malinc Publishing House we have been publishing quality children's literature since 2012 and have strived for bigger literary diversity throughout. We are concentrated on publishing authors from the Spanish speaking countries and minority literatures' representatives connected with the Spanish culture such as Basque, Catalan and Galician writers. Books of less known literatures from Europe and elsewhere have also been published by Malinc Publishing House. Through the reading promotion projects we put academic knowledge into practice. Besides, we carry out courses for the mentors of reading and organize literary readings and visits of foreign authors. It is in this way that we raise general reading literacy, intercultural and linguistic competences and include vulnerable groups, especially people with dyslexia.

        Pathological States - a novel

        by Daniel Melnick

Dr. Morris Weisberg is a distinguished sixty-year-old pathologist as well as an amateur violinist and classical music lover. The quixotic and troubled doctor discovers a disastrous instance of malpractice and a cover-up reaching to the office of the Director of his California hospital. During this year of the Cuban Missile Crisis, Eichmann’s execution, and above-ground nuclear testing, Doctor Weisberg struggles to find a way to confront his own crisis. Morris and his wife, Sandra, were born in Europe near the start of the twentieth century, and each was brought to America at an early age. In 1962, the couple is living in suburbia, in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley. They have two sons. Both are aspiring artists in their twenties, and one is straight, the other gay. As they test limits and act out their resentments, the household begins to fill with excesses, revelations, and rebellion. At work and at home, communication fails, brutal buried truths erupt, and Morris begins to descend into maddening depression. He seeks refuge in his love of classical music and in his California garden. His glassed-in lanai there offers him solace, a place – like Los Angeles itself – of pleasure and escape, which ends up being a haunted, alienated space. As Morris plummets, his struggle to keep affirming his faith in both science and music wavers. Dr. Weisberg becomes a powerfully moving, larger-than-life character – noble, destructive, and terrifying.

      • The Second Penis

        by J.D.B.

Londinyia: a Capital in Crisis.  Gripped by a species of perversion without parallel in the long, sordid annals of the Alpha Male. As the Decency Tax extends across all districts and zones, the Emancipation Party declares war on the deviant insurgency. Amid the vast armoury of weapons employed, the Proctallator, irSpex and the notorious Schnuffler, stand primed to unleash an avalanche of moral fury. Meanwhile, the Spectre of Deceit looms over the Party HQ, the Pyramex, rocked by  dysfunctional mandroids, a Steering Committee mired in scandal and mutiny among the D-Squad ranks. Only Corporal Lillian Scarpello and her loyal beta-adjutant, Sir Lucien Picene, it seems, stand between Londinyia – and the Abyss. The explanation: The Second Penis is a satire on the City of London and its assumptions about behaviour, and supposed patterns of normality, taken to an absurd level. The author: (location unknown) lives in a shed in Myrddin’s Precinct where he communes with drunken spirits and entities, and launches vitriolic assaults against the Satanic Inertias of the Capital, soon to be revisited in The Gnat.  A series of endless night-shifts in the Ancient City of London drives him to the terrifying conclusion that its entire existence is a Hoax – a bankrupt Government, media and economy imprisoned in a Tower of Babble.  But can a man certified as insane – twice – complete his mission to rescue the intellectual heritage of his Nation?  Who knows.  For now, he sleeps amid the empty quarts and flasks, waiting to spring forth from his chrysalis...
