Biomimetic optimization options for lightweight construction

The biomimetic structural optimization of components in mechanical engineering pursues the goal of a performance enhancement through lightweight construction measures at a low cost through a resource-efficient material application. The book offers designers and developers an overview as well as methods especially for biomimetic component optimization in the sense of light construction and economical material application. It is intended as an introduction to the topic of structural optimization and contains, among other things, practical support and tools, as well as simple means can be used to optimize the design, which lead to components which are suitable for the flow of force and thus to lightweight structures.
