Zóna
by Daniel Majling
Description
Forget Nordic detective fiction, the grittiest stories are set in Gemera! Or, if you prefer, in the Zone, the mysterious space between Rimavská Sobota and London, where Daniel Majling has set his new comic story. And as we are used to with the author of Rudo and Ruzka klazika, the search for a mysteriously lost friend will go hand in hand with the search for truth, the meaning of life and man's place in the universe...

Reviews
"In 1904, in an attempt to get away from my father, I tried to move to Rimavská Sobota, but after half a year I returned to Prague. I burned the things I had written in Sobota. They were hauntingly bleak. It was only after my return to Prague that I discovered a new, more optimistic tone for my writing in the stories In the penal colony and The Change."
- Franz Kafka, Letters to Felicia
"There are several simultaneous, interconnected global processes going on in the world at the moment, which I would call in one word the "tornalization" of society."
- Noam Chomsky in his paper New Aspects of Globalization
"Many situations in life put the question before you: Who am I? Who am I really in my essence? And who do I become in turning points, existential situations? But it is only in Lučenec that you realise that the question of your identity starts somewhere else. It is only here that you stop asking: Who am I? And instead you start asking yourself a much more insistent question: Why here? Why here?!"
- Jean-Paul Sartre in a speech he delivered at Timrava's monument in Lučenec during his first visit to Czechoslovakia in 1963.
