A literary gem about love, sex, art, culture and, ultimately, the passions that move people.
El teu gust (Your Taste) is a great love story. Above all, there is the relationship between the protagonist and Roser, which ends when Roser dies in an unpredictable and unfortunate accident. Before and after, there is the story of the romances that the protagonist has with different men. But the novel is also a story about beheadings. About loss, passion, hope, and desire that make us lose our heads, that return us to the past when we are old, that hide the future when we are still young.
With its unmistakable style, the author opens the doors of her literary world telling us about the life of a woman who ironically evokes a life journey made of cuts and patches, with the feeling that her body and her head are separated because even when the forces die, passion remains intact. A huge passion for art and life that is strongly affirmed in the latest novel by Isabel-Clara Simó.
Born in Alcoi (Valencia), Isabel-Clara Simó has won several literary awards among them the Saint Jordi prize in 1993, and Saint George Cross in 1999. Isabel-Clara Simó, awarded also the Catalan Literary Lifetime Achievement Award (Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes) as a recognition to her contribution with her literary work to the cultural life of the Catalan countries. She is considered one of the most relevant writers in Catalan language. She died in 2020.
