Author Biography
The author of this edition, photographer Vladislav Yakushkin, is originally a biologist by education. The master’s intimate dream was to make an album about Kazakhstan for everyone. And now his brainchild, created at the behest of the soul, finally appeared. There is not a single poetic line in the photographs accompanying the album, but the definition for the album just begs - poetic. Every picture breathes such love. Here, glaciers and deserts can coexist, being 70 kilometers apart. And the lake Markakol is completely different several times during the day. Either lead-gray, now violet-pink, now orange-red ... And only the water in it and the air around it remains invariably transparent. Rare species of animals and birds live in Kazakhstan. Thus, the northernmost settlements of pink flamingos in the world are located in the Korgalzhyn reserve. This bird, as it flew here many thousands of years ago, so it flies now.
