April Charles is a pleasantly disturbed young girl who prefers to lie on the couch all day. She works in a funerary, gets a kick out of zombie stories and has nice friends. But no one around her knows that she is not of this world.

She's half siren and half ripper. With her voice she can bring the dead to life and influence the living. However, using those gifts is not without consequences. Her dark side then wants to take over and it takes all her effort to keep it under control.

One day, when she accidentally brings a dead man back to life, he tells her disturbing news. A group of psychopaths plan to exploit her world, Terr, and sell it to the very wealthy as an exclusive vacation destination. Everything is possible and allowed on Terr, there are almost no rules, and strange, fascinating creatures live there.

April knows she has to say goodbye to her quiet life if she wants to help save Terr. And so she reluctantly throws herself into the fray.
