Wahrheit in Gefahr
by Tatin Giannaro
Description
The story follows two young women in their fight against corruption in a Greek summer resort at the Aegean Sea. An intense love from the past blurs the lines. While Greece is drowning in the financial debt crisis, their search for the truth puts them into unexpected danger.
Why “Truth in Danger” is important:
A historical account of Greece during the recent financial crisis and its political events. A story about how ever-present corruption is pervading society and the effects on social and private life. And a story about a fundamental decision: love or justice in a corrupt world.
About the book:
A story about justice, love, corruption, and lots of money.
Back at the Aegean Sea. Alithea always has to serve up justice, for everybody. In the summer resort at the sea, she once more comes across Philippos, her big love. His father had made lots of money with the building of the resort. Long suppressed memories crack open in Alithea. The pain of those days is back. And Philippos’ fiancée, too.
The rage burns inside Alithea. She starts asking questions. Where does all the money of the resort’s cost contributions go? Her old friend Elli and she get into a network of lies and invisible relations. These go far back to the beginning of the summer resort. Nobody tells the truth. Nobody helps. Who is friend, who is foe? Nothing is as it appears.
Meanwhile, all of Greece is drow ning ever deeper in the financial debt crisis and the triangle of corruption. With every question, Alithea and Elli get ever deeper into chaos. While political events in the country develop, the paradise-like summer life at the sea turns into an unexpected danger.
Tatin Giannaro takes a detailed look at the recent history of Greece. A close-up view of the structures that got it into the crisis, the politics and a society that don’t want to stop this.
The exciting society novel of the author with the special voice.

Reviews
Reader’s reviews:
“I love how the main characters are strong women who can think for themselves and not follow the pressure of just "do what you are told to do and not cause any problems". The stupid pretty females are so common in many fictional books and especially in the movies that it really is beyond annoying.
The part that I like the most involves the political analysis from the main characters point of view. As an outsider I only have a narrow view of what happens in Greece. But reading the book I get a new prospective as to what may have caused the financial crisis in Greece and how it affects the everyday person of someone who lives there.”
“All Germans should absolutely read “Wahrheit in Gefahr”. Tatin Giannaro opens a page in the book of the Greeks. Greek contemporary history and recent events with exciting truths to the last point. With lots of suspense, like a mystery story, I followed Alithea’s and Elli’s path to discover the secrets.”
“Tatin Giannaro’s book describing the ‚summer resort irregularities‘ (= nobody does anything, nobody tells the truth) should be a must read for all interested and / or involved in the Greek debt crisis, which would mean she will be a best selling author in no time . . .”
