Author Biography
Michael Wrede is an author and illustrator of children's and youth books. Many books have been published internationally. His illustrations can also be seen in school textbooks, magazines or on covers.
He has been teaching for several years, including at the BKA-Hamburg, Design Akademie Berlin and has led workshops in the field of professional development. In 2011, he co-founded the Academy for Illustration and Design in Berlin (AID-Berlin). Today he runs the academy together with his business partner. Furthermore, he is also active as a lecturer in the field of children's and youth books. In 2017, he was the initiator of the "Buntspecht" children's book competition, which is now held regularly.
Annabelle von Sperber is an independent illustrator. Known for numerous top titles and series in children's and young people's books that have been sold in many countries, she made an international name for herself with her art and architecture hidden object books. These were published by Prestel Verlag in Munich, London and New York. Her pictures are characterised by warm colours, a fine sense of humour and a love of detail.
She teaches illustration together with Michael Wrede at the Academy for Illustration and Design in Berlin (AID-Berlin), and is responsible for the illustration department at the Faber Castell Academy.
