Ukraine Incognita

by Larysa Ivshyna

Description

“Ukraine Incognita” is a book dedicated to the biographies of outstanding Ukrainians whose talents are recognised both internationally and nationally. The history of the Ukrainian people, starting from the Scythians and Sarmatians and up to the tragedies and achievements of the 20th century. The book describes the times when Ukrainians reached the heights of their historical creativity, and the times when they suffered under the yoke of total despotism. The history of the spiritual achievements of Ukrainians – creators of the beautiful cathedrals, painters, composers, soldiers and ambassadors. The story of a thousand-year struggle of people for freedom and dignified life. The reader will find all of these facts in the collection of historical essays about biographies of famous Ukrainians. History should not be Terra Incognita: it is our responsibility to the future generations to tell the story.
