Summer holidays with grandpa Fridjof? For twelve-year-old Henrik, one thing is clear: it can only get boring.

Arriving in the 14th century, Henrik finds himself on a ship belonging to the famous pirate Störtebeker. Together with the pirates and his new friends Simon and Alina, he goes on an adventurous treasure hunt. The helmsman Edo, however, has his own plans for the search - and gets in Henrik's way more than once ...

Author Biography
Julie Bender grew up in Hamburg and has always liked ships and the sea. She got the idea for this book when she saw the wreck of the Bremen cog in the German Maritime Museum. The author imagined what it would be like to sail the North Sea with it and experience pirate adventures. Hardly had she returned home when she wrote the first chapters of this story. In the meantime she has made writing books her profession. She also wrote the series "Mia Magie" (Kosmos). Julie Bender lives with her family near Hamburg and is a member of the Elbautoren.
