Author Biography

Gabriela Peyron is a distinguished Mexican writer, teacher, librarian, translator, and editor. Studied Hispanic Literature in the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She has 17 books published for children and young readers including picture books, novels, poetry, and nonfiction science topics for children. Her books are sold in Mexico, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, United States of America, Peru, and Puerto Rico. Literary Prizes: International Children's and Young Readers Book Fair (FILIJ) Prize of Stories for Children and Young Readers, 1996 and 2000; “Juan de la Cabada” Prize for Children and Young Readers Literature of the State of Campeche, Mexico, 2000; and Special Mention in the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz International Award, in the poetry for children category, 2016. One of her books has been sold in the United States and Canada with 40,000 copies.
