Author Biography
Nádia Battella Gotlib is an associate professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), where she taught Portuguese and Brazilian literature. She worked at several Brazilian and foreign universities, such as the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Oxford. She also organized the publication of the formerly unedited text by Elisa Lispector called Old Portraits (Belo Horizonte: UFMG, 2011). Among the books she authored are The Definitive Stranger. Poetry and Critic in Adolfo Casais Monteiro and Theory of the Short Story. In 1995, she published a study on the life and work of Clarice Lispector called Clarice, a Life That Tells Itself, and in 2008 she published Clarice Photobiography.
