Urbanization is an important process that China’s social and economic development must go through. The settlement development pattern of China in the past several thousand years has been challenged by the new urbanization, and the rapid development of urbanization will lead to great changes in urban and rural settlements. At the same time, since the reform and opening up, China’s industrialization process has been advancing rapidly, and the society, economy and space of small towns and rural areas have undergone drastic changes in the process of industrialization. Settlement as human populations (or economic activity) to some extent, is the basic unit of the relationship between human and land. Being combined with the process of our urbanization and industrialization, to clarify the different economic conditions, different terrain environment, under the different stages of development and influence factors of settlement characteristics of spatial pattern has important theoretical significance and practical significance for enriching the related theory of settlement evolution law, promoting the coordinated development of urban and rural areas, clearing the future developing direction of village.
