Description
This graphic novel tells a story of a Lithuanian boy Algiukas, who in 1941 together with his family was deported to Siberia. His aunt Petronella brings along a book of the Japanese haiku poems. In exile, she inspires the deportees not to succumb to the despair and to see the beautiful side of life.

Author Biography
Jurga Vilė studied French at Vilnius University and film art in Paris. She worked on film locations and film festivals, was a correspondent for cultural events and film translator. For some time, Jurga Vilė lived in Spain. While in Spain, she wrote down a story of her family, which later became her first book, Siberian Haiku (published in 2017 in Vilnius). Today Jurga Vilė is the author of 3 books. She lives and works in Lithuania.
Lina Itagaki studied English in Lithuania and international economics and business in Tokyo, Japan. Today she is a well-known creator of comic and illustrated books. Today Lina Itagaki is the author of nine picture books. She lives and works in Lithuania.
