Shyamla
by Rania Bedda
Description
Shyamla is a 15-year-old girl living in the state of Kerala
in India with her father. She suffered a lot because of
the death of her mother, who loved jasmine flowers so
much, so Shyamla always cared to keep these flowers
by her side all the time to feel connected to her deceased
mother. Shyamla went on a trip with her school to the
city of Jaipur -the Pink City- for a quick visit. Near the
end of their visit, they went to stay on an elephants farm
where Shyamla met a small elephant called Suraj, who
lost his mother just like her, and was infatuated with the
scent of jasmine flowers, that Shyamla was keeping with
her. In just a few days, Shyamla and Suraj had some
interesting adventures together, which changed their
lives, and they were only connecting through drawing,
which Suraj was so good at.
