Author Biography

Halyna Tkachuk is a poet, novelist, and literary critic. She was born on August 27, 1985 in the city of Khmelnytsky. She graduated from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with a degree in Literary Studies and History of Literature. She did postgraduate studies at the Department of Philology of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy researching of the image of city in Ukrainian children's prose. She worked as an editor for the literary supplement of the teen magazine Classmate. Halyna Tkachuk took part in many art events and projects. She wrote a collection of poems "White Goodness" (2003), stories and short stories "Slavka" (2006), a poem in Ukrainian and Polish "I and other Beauties", children's stories "Window on a Dog" (2011). Halyna's work was published in anthologies "Two Tons" (2007), "Boy-Girl" (2008), "Dreams: Dreams of Ukrainian writers" (2010), "How They Spent the Summer, a book in 24 hours" (2011), “ On Easter Day”(2013) and in periodicals. Halyna Tkachuk's works have been translated into Russian and Polish.
