Description

Saurus and His Younger Brother is a fairy tale about the changing life of little Saurus from the Stegosaurus family. Saurus' life undergoes a transformation when he learns that a younger brother will soon join his family. Alongside Saurus, young readers will explore emotions such as jealousy toward a younger sibling, self-awareness, and the value of all children, whether older or younger. Through Saurus's story, children will come to understand that younger siblings are not merely trouble-makers but true friends who help you grow stronger, more confident, and more mature.

Author Biography

Myroslav Laiuk is a Ukrainian poet, novelist and screenwriter born in 1990 in the Precarpathian Region of Ukraine. He holds a PhD in Philosophy and literature from the National University of Kyiv-­Mohyla Academy, where he teaches creative writing. He is the author of several novels and poetry collections. Some of his works include the poetry collections Metrophobia (2015) and The Rose (2019), as well as the novels Babornia: The Old Folks’ Home (2016), The World Is Not Created (2018), and Iron Water (2021).


His novel Babornia entered the short list of the Literary Award BBC Book of the Year 2016.  The Kyiv Post listed Laiuk in the Top 30 Under 30 ranking of 2018 as one of the most innovative young Ukrainians. His first book for young readers is Saurus and His Younger Brother, included in this catalogue as well as Kiwi, Kiwi, another of his works for children.


 


Katerina Sad is a Ukrainian writer and artist who creates illustrations by combining easel graphics and a graphic tablet. She is a graduate of the Odessa Art School and the Lviv National Academy of Arts. She participated in  the Gaude Polonia scholarship program under the Republic of Poland’s Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Kateryna has been working with Ukrainian publishing houses since 2016 and created her first picture book The Milli000000n-Dollar Idea in the summer of 2018, available on our catalogue, as well as her 2021 book Mailman.
