Author Biography
Svein Linge, born in 1947, is a Norwegian historical author. In 2019, he published a biography of Captain Martin Linge, the first leader of NORIC No. 1. He has written numerous articles in local newspapers about World War II in Inner Sunnmøre, including one about six Russian prisoners of war who escaped from German labor camps in the fall of 1944 and were hidden by ten residents of Valldal at great personal risk, as discovery could have led to execution.
Linge is a trained teacher and has worked as a journalist, head of information at The Norwegian Theater (1979-1986), and editor of the local newspaper Storfjordnytt (1987-1993). He also served on the municipal council from 1991 to 2015. Linge is a highly sought-after lecturer on topics related to World War II.
