In this book attempts have been made to develop a guidelines based on all the relevant literature's available globally and after judging them under the Ergonomics scanner in the Indian geriatric population. It has focused on several broader design issues which encourages the independence of the senior citizens and ultimately improving their quality of life. The book provides in numerous number of illustrations for better understanding of the design, practical solutions for modifying the home interiors and making it more elderly friendly.

Author Biography
Prof. G. C. Ray is a Ph.D in Ergonomics/ Human factors with a strong background in Physiology and Biomechanics. As a faculty of the Industrial Design Centre and Associated faculty of the department of Biosciences and Biotechnology, IIT – Bombay, he has experience in Design Ergonomics for more than 30 years. He has published more than 30 papers in International/ National Journals and presented more than 100 papers in different seminars and conferences. He is the Honorary president of the Indian Society of Ergonomics Section (PG 15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards.
Lavanya Bachwal is a Master’s Degree holder in Food Science and Nutrition with Specialization in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. She is also a certified Diabetes Educator especially concentrating on the geriatric population, for them to have a better quality of life. Her field basically is associated with behavioral modification with respect to the food eating patterns of the general population.
