Author Biography
Raúl Zibechi was born in 1952 in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is a journalist, writer and activist with a deep knowledge of social movements in Latin America. He has published several books, including Dispersar el poder: los movimientos como poderes antiestatales (Dispersing Power: Movements as Anti-State Powers) (Tinta Limón, 2006), Territorios en resistencia: cartografía política de las periferias latinoamericanas (Territories in Resistance: Political Mapping of Latin American Peripheries) (Lavaca, 2008), Brasil potencia (Brazil Power) (Consequencia, 2012), Los desbordes desde abajo: 1968 in Latin America (Desdeabajo, 2018) and Mundos Otros y pueblos en movimiento: debates on anti-colonialism and transition in Latin America (Desdeabajo, 2022), many of which have been translated into other languages.
