Author Biography
MIQUEL BOTA (Spain/USA)
Miquel Bota is a scholar, professor and writer. He writes fiction both in Spanish and Catalan, and uses English for his scholarly work.
He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in Iberian and Latin American Cultures, and is currently a professor at California State University, Sacramento.
MARINA LÓPEZ PLANELLA (Spain)
Marina López Planella has studied and continues to study literature and its relationship with life and politics.
She writes and travels.
Her literary language is Catalan.
DAVID ROAS (Spain)
David is a writer and professor of Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where he also directs the Group of Studies on the Fantastic (GEF) and Brumal. Magazine on the Fantastic.
As a scholar, he is a specialist in the fantastic in contemporary Spanish culture.
CHRISTOPHER J. CASTAÑEDA (USA)
Christopher J. Castañeda is a professor of History at California State University, Sacramento.
He has a PhD in United States History from the University of Houston in Texas.
He has published several works on economic history, history of the energy industry, and Ibero-American history and transnational anarchism.
JUAN MANUEL CHÁVEZ (Lima, 1976)
Juan Manuel Chávez is a writer and a scholar. He holds a BA in Literature from the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos in Perú. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the Universidad de Valencia and is a researcher in the Biographical Studies Unit of the Universitat de Barcelona.
He has written numerous works that cover different genres, from the short story to the novel, through the essay and also the children’s story. Throughout his literary career he has received prestigious literary awards in each of these genres.
CARLOS A. COLLA (Argentina)
Carlos A. Colla is an industrial engineer with a long career in the financial services industry and in the process transformation practice.
In 2016 he was the winner of the XV José Eustasio Rivera International Novel Biennial, and in 2001 he was awarded the Juan Rulfo International Short Story Prize.
FERMINA PONCE (Colombia/USA)
Fermina Ponce is a social communicator and a journalist, specialist in organizational communication management from the Universidad de la Sabana, Colombia.
She is a writer in Spanish from the United States.
In 2017, she was nominated for the “22 plus” award by the Colombian Consulate in Chicago for her cultural contribution.
FIDEL MASREAL (Spain)
Fidel Masreal is a writer and a journalist. He has a degree in Communication Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
He has worked in several radio stations, among other media. He is currently editor of the politics section of the newspaper El Periódico. He collaborates in radio programs for RAC1 and SER Catalunya, and in TV programs for TV3 and La Sexta.
