Author Biography
Ben Boswell is a photographer and writer. His two biggest passions are photography in which he has been involved for all of his working life and studio ceramics. The interest in pottery started while he was in his teens in the mid 1970’s when he was given a David Leach bowl as a Christmas present. The spark of enthusiasm was kindled and for a few years he spent all his pocket money on pots and went to exhibitions at the Craftsman Potters Shop in Marshall Street, The Crafts Council shop in Covent Garden and various other places. Having learned the basics of photography from his father the photographer Brian Shuel, Ben started to use photography to record his visits to demonstrations, taking pictures of Mick Casson, Colin Pearson, David Leach and many others. The portrait project grew out of this and the fact that his taste in pots had exceeded his budget.
