The World of Elephants 1 and The World of Elephants 2 from the PNSO Animal Museum series, scientifically and artistically present the evolution of proboscideans that have lasted for 60 million years. In terms of design, the two books still follow the PNSO Museum format in using 1-meter-long colorful fold-out pages to present abundant details.
All works in this series come from the research results of “Darwin: An Art Project of Life Science” of “PNSO’s Scientific Art Projects Plan: Stories on Earth”. Mr. ZHAO Chuang, a scientific artist, strictly follows available scientific evidence throughout his creation, by building his artistic framework based on fossils and scientific data. He restored skeletons, models, and the ecological environment from fossils, to make these both scientifically rigorous and artistically creative. Based on the latest research, Ms. YANG Yang, a science writer for children, vividly depicts the tortuous evolutionary process of proboscideans, and the stories about its members that you may know or not, such as Deinotherium, Gomphotherium, Aphanobelodon, Stegodon, Mammuthus, Loxodonta (Africa elephants)... to lead the readers to appreciate the charm of the elephant world and explore the scientific facts of elephants.

Author Biography
On June 1st, 2010, Mr. ZHAO Chuang, a scientific artist, and Ms. YANG Yang, a science writer for children, launched PNSO Scientific Art Projects Plan: Stories on Earth (2010-2070). The plan follows a tradition of using scientific art to create a narrative. These narratives are based on the latest scientific research, focusing on the complex relationships between species, natural environments, communities, and cultures. The narratives consider the perspectives of human civilization while exploring Earth's past, present, and future.
Currently, PNSO has independently completed or participated in a number of creative projects and research projects. The organization's work has been shared widely and well received. In collaborations with professional scientists, PNSO has been invited by many key laboratories around the world to create scientific works of art. The organization has always been committed to supporting state-of-the-art scientific explorations. Many works produced by PNSO staff members have been published in leading journals, including Nature, Science, and Cell. In addition, PNSO has held joint exhibitions with global museums, thus helping young people in different parts of the world to understand and appreciate scientific art.
