Author Biography
Melih Esen Cengiz was born in
Ankara in 1954. After graduating from
Darüşşafaka High School, he studied
economics at Istanbul University
and received his M.B.A. degree from
Syracuse University in New York. He
worked in the private sector for many
years. He founded the 1907 Fenerbahçe
Association in 1992. He started writing
scripts and stories at Istanbul University.
He edited and issued the book Asr-ı
Fener, covering the history of the first
century of Fenerbahçe Sports Club,
was published as a limited edition, in
2009. Melih Esen Cengiz has a special
interest in the history of the First and
Second World Wars. He has five novels
published: An Ottoman Summer (2012),
Marlene’s Orphan (2013), Heaven
Deserted of Meanings (2014), Pigeons of
Jerusalem (2016) and Murder Jealousy
(2018).
