Description
A novel about an unusual relationship between a pensioner and a refugee. Nesta Bowen is an elderly woman, living independently and is extremely self-possessed. An anonymous young man, the 'little soldier', enters her life. He lives in the forest beyond her garden, and as time progresses, he is welcomed into her home, and their relationship unfolds in this novel.
