Media in the Trucial States

The study deals with the media in the Trucial States in the period between (1964-1974), due to this period's importannce representig a precursor of the union phase in which cultural awarness increased. The research includes a comprehensive historical survey of the media efforts (press, radio, and telvesion) that were made in the Trucial States, and it also includes material that the researcher has sought to describe, analyze and evaluate, in appreciation of these efforts and out of her desire to highlight them.
The study relies on the scientific material extracted from historical documents, including newspapers, magazines and periodicals related to the study period; historical documents of radio stations during that period; and historical narratives and documents of the beginnings of television transmission in the Trucial States with the establishment of Kuwait Television in Dubai, and Abu Dhabi TV. The study includes the relevant information mentioned in the subsequent references.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Media, College of Communication, University of Sharjah, graduated in 2010.
- MA in Islamic History and Civilization, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sharjah, graduated in 2017.
- She is currently studying in the PhD Program in Philosophy of History and Islamic Civilization (first alumni group), University of Sharjah.
- Researcher in local heritage and history.
- Awareness and education supervisor at Sharjah Institute for Heritage.
Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority
Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority, earlier Sharjah Centre for Documentation and Research, was established by resolution no. (4) of 2010, issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad AL Qassimi, member of the Supreme Council, the Ruler of Sharjah. In 2016, H.H. Ruler of Sharjah issued resolution no. (4) of 2016, on the establishment of Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority. The objectives were set to collecting and preserving documents related to the emirate, as well as the development of the documentation and archive system. Furthermore, the Authority shall oversee the management of current documents and mediate documents with concerned parties. The Authority represents the local body concerned with all matters of documents and archiving and it abides by the best international standards for preserving and maintaining documents. The Authority works to strengthen cultural and historical awareness and encourage scientific researches and intellectual creativity.
