It was the day of the Nja festival. The entire capital was animated. Each queen woke up, went towards the crowd and returned with their mothers in front of the throne, where the king gave them gifts. When it was Mbumanjé’s turn to present her mother to the king, she went towards the crowd, and to everyone’s surprise, presented a healthy-looking woman who was well dressed. Disappointment!

Author Biography
Emmanuel MATATEYOU is a Professor, literary critic and writer. After literary studies at the universities of Yaoundé, Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV) and Savoie (Chambéry) crowned with a Habilitation to direct research (HDR) in Romance studies, he began a teaching career in secondary schools, and later at the Higher Education, École normale supérieure of Yaoundé in Cameroon where he has occupied several positions of responsibility. He has published many captivating works on African culture and literature.
